A WALK IN THE GORGE OF SAMARIA

With a length of 16.5 km and more than 300 thousand visitors per year, the magnificent auto canyon is the largest in Greece and the second largest in Europe, which makes it a popular destination for hiking and nature lovers.

The entrance of the gorge is located on the plateau of Omalos (Xyloskalo) and ends at the picturesque village of Agia Roumeli, in front of the Libyan Sea.

Crossing this imposing gorge, one sees its magnificent and rare morphology and the unique habitat with a particular wealth of fauna and flora.

During your descent into the gorge you will have the opportunity to see the main species of fauna that lives there, the world-famous wild goat that lives freely in the area and is known by the name Kri-Kri.
